Islam kills girls and women all the time. Kills them, beats them, cuts off their clitorises. So it came as no surprise that Aqsa Parvez had the life strangled out of her.
When 16 yr. old Mississauga high school student, Asqa Parvez, stood up to her fundamentalist Islamic father, Muhammed Parvez, over his insistence that she wear a hijab and succumb to other religious restraints, she risked being killed. And according to her friends, she knew it. She knew Islam.

Aqsa’s friend, Dominiquia Holmes-Thompson, 16, recalled Aqsa saying that it was possible that something could “happen” to her. Asqa was afraid of her father, according to friends, who say he strictly controlled her and would not allow her to go out. She was seen at school with bruises. She began staying at the home of a high school friend, defying her father. “He said that if she leaves, he would kill her”, Holmes-Thompson says.
Asqa was willing to stay in a shelter. But she returned home one last time, reportedly after her brother saw her at a bus stop and offered to take her home to get a change of clothing. It is not uncommon for a brother in a Muslim family in Pakistan — where Asqa was born — to lure a girl to a place where the family can make her the target of an “honor killing”, an angle now being investigated by police. It was after Asqa returned home that her father called 911 and said, “I killed my daughter.”
When Asqa -- Al Asqa is the name of a Muslim Holy site -- stood up to her fundamentalist Islamic father, she was doing a favor for women everywhere at risk from Islam. Like those who fought Sharia law in Ontario, did all women a favor. And like a few female teachers in Ontario did all women a favor a few years back when they said they did not want girls to wear the hijab in their classrooms because it was a sign of the subjugation of women.
And now Asqa’s dead, which underscores just why Islam has to be stood up to, instead of being coddled by the great Canadian multi-culti bear hug.

Guess who else had an Islamic father who believed women should be subordinate? Marc Lepine, aka Gamil Gharbi, who massacred 14 women at L'ecole Polytechnique in Montreal. (See "Wet P*ssy Benches" Commemorate Murdered Women on this blog.)

Islam does not kill girls and women. People do. The Koran, just like the Bible, tells us to love and take care of each other. But Muslims, just like Christians, have distorted their religion out of all recognition to serve their own purposes. Whether it is "in the name of the Lord" or "in the name of Allah", millions have died -- many of them girls and women.
The argument you are using is "moral equivalence". It's the argument that there are bad people in all religions so we can't pick on Islam. It's an argument that multi-culturalists use to avoid confronting massive abuse of women perpetrated by Islamists.
Hirsi Ali, a once devout Muslim, born in Somalia but now living in the U.S., has pointed out that unlike Christianity and Judaism, Islam has not re-examined and discarded tenets which encourage physical abuse of women. Ali takes the position that unlike other religions, Islam wants to push modern civilization back into the 7th century.
The anonymous faddist above is just one more of the seemingly endless fools who parrots the trendy cliches of the multi-culti minders of our day who do anything in their power to deflect criticism from Islam, coming up with the reddest of herring, the most brittle of straw men to divert attention from Islam, one of the multi-culturalists's strongest bases of support in the West. Follow the money, follow the votes. It's those like the one above who will tie themselves in knots to make sure any criticism of Islam is buried under bullshit rather than have the ruling elites lose ground and status if their private backers don't get their deliveries of concessions to sharia. The so-called Leftists will sell out women, gays, the poor, anyone at all, no matter what, on any occasion, for no reason or any excuse, so long as it pleases the Muslim lobby. And the one above plays the game for them, like any conformist, like any follower of the standard party line. It's trite, it's obvious, and it doesn't work. It's tiresome and it's disgusting. That will never stop the party hack.
God is love is a central tenet of Christianity. It is not so in Islam where Allah is unknowable, arbitrary, to be feared.

-what a mindless thing to say. Is there such a thing as people without religion? some kind of core person separate from his religion? Sure there is a biological component to man, but what distinguishes apes from people is culture, which in its most basic forms is language and religion.
The purpose of all culture is to defer our great capacity for intraspecific violence. By replacing contested objects with the signs of culture, we defer competition over material things.
Now culture does not always succeed in deferring violence. And sometimes it uses a little violence in order to defer a greater violence. For example, primitive cultures rely on scapegoating to preserve a larger group order. That's what seems to have happened in this case: Aqsa was scapegoated by her extended family to preserve their tribal and religious code.
We are nothing without our religion. Sure, it is possible to think you are not religious, but the secular or atheist person is really just practicing a different form of religion.
If people kill, when not in self-defense or rational calculation of warfare, it is because their religion either encourages scapegoating or because it does not provide sufficient discipline to stop it.
People who would go around making excuses for primitive religion and tribalism are shameless nihilists.
