It was pissin' down rain late yesterday afternoon as this pedestrian walked across the Georgia Viaduct toward Main St.

I'm tinkering with the idea of "oeconousia," a neologism that I hope is the beginning of a way of understanding the world and its people by looking at the built environment of individuals and groups as expressed in realia: one looks at a room, for example, and in that room one sees-- whatever. There will be an ecology, a household, within each room, and from that one might begin to understand the person or people responsible for the setting as it is. Concretely, one can poke ones head into someone's place and see from the things and their arrangement who the person is in the material world: regardless of what one says of oneself, the room will tell the secrets of the person. Look at the theme of comments, and see how well they show the way of the mind over time, and from that one can get a sense of the person's interior life. Quickly, one can just look into the livingroom and see what kind of live the person expresses.

Can you look at your home and see your mind expressed there? One makes choices, in photography as in interior decorating. Does it tell us more than the obvious? I think so.
