CBC: Biased Coverage of Israel

Close-Up Footage of Mavi Marmara Passengers Attacking IDF Soldiers

Today, as I listened to CBC Radio coverage of deaths on an aid ship to Gaza boarded by Israelis, I got the impression that Israeli soldiers were senseless murderers whom the world needed to keep in check. I knew there must be a lot not being said. So I looked to see what truepeers at Covenant Zone blog had to say and found the above video.

Coast to Coast radio had fair and balanced coverage of this incident this evening. Host George Noory, who is of Lebanese-Christian heritage, asked a good question: Since Turkey knew that Israel was allowing aids ships to Gaza (after first checking them for weapons), and this ship left from Turkey, why didn't Turkey tell the Israelis that this was an aid ship? It's as if they wanted this incident to happen.

I think if masked men with assault weapons illegally board your vessel in international waters after hitting it with smoke bombs you have the right to defend yourself.
This was an unprovoked attack against Turkey, a NATO member, murdering its unarmed citizens. The NATO charter states an attack against one member is an attack against all members, as George W insisted after 911.
NATO and the international community have far more justification to attack Israel than they ever had for Iraq.

I dont think you'll print this comment but hope you will prove me wrong.

Thank you for posting me. I should make it clear that I'm not advocating a military assault against Israel. The Bible is clear about what happens after that.

But Israel's actions need to be seriously addressed. It is acting as a dangerous rogue nation that is destabilzing the whole region and endangering its whole population, I believe deliberately.

anonymous,

I'm halfway through an article truepeers recommended in which Barry Rubin defends Israel in this latest incident.
