Vancouver Police Ignore Assault on Christian at Christmas

Matthew Lee, and a group of Christians paid $75 for a permit to preach at Cambie & Hastings in downtown Vancouver at Christmas time.  A passerby who disapproved of their preaching shoved Mathew down onto the sidewalk, knocking out two of his front teeth.

Matthew and the witnesses had a detailed description of the suspect for the Vancouver Police, including the fact that he was dressed in black and wearing a band across his forehead that read, "Resistance".  But police seemed indifferent.  They didn't take a report.  They simply told Matthew to, "stay out of the vicinity."  Matthew actually lives in the vicinity, in a bachelor suite in the old Woodwards building.

Matthew is a mix of Asian and native, and he said the man who assaulted him was native.

Neither myself or other bloggers know Matthew well, but he's been around for years and has never come across as aggressive.  He also works for the BC Lions, looking after their uniforms.

Stephen Harper has set up an office to deal with religious persecution around the world, a move that is largely believed to be a response to recent attacks on Christians.

It's time Chief Chu sent an officer over to the Woodwards building to assure Matthew that this assault will be investigated.

Solzhenitsyn declared:
Over a half century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of old people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: "Men have forgotten God; that's why all this has happened." Since then I have spent well-nigh 50 years working on the history of our revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: "Men have forgotten God; that's why all this has happened."

An investigation is warranted for sure, but preaching on a corner where everyone has to listen to your religious shit is fucking annoying as anything. Doesn't mean violence is the answer, but I mean you can't expect a welcoming reaction when you are going to preach at people.

I didn't realize that the "old" woodwards building had apartments. Did you mean the new woodward's towers?

I wish I could afford to live there seen as how you brought it up.

You're right, it's the new Woodwards towers at the old Woodwards building. Matthew has one of the subsidized apartments there. He is classified as handicapped due to having been in a bad car accident when he was ten years old.

I find street preaching annoying too, but I just remind myself that supporting free speech includes supporting speech that I find irritating.

This current news story about a "confinement room"/"dungeon" reminded me of numerous allegations that have been surrounding the Portland Hotel Society for years. Longtime Strathcona residents recall that Liz Evans kept a mentally disturbed man as a sex slave in her residence - that was equipped with an outer-padlocked pantry and attic. Province reporter David Carrigg noted that several of the women found murdered on the Pickton farm lived in PHS facilities. Of course, none of this has ever being investigated, and like the news story above, likely most of the evidence is now destroyed. Considering the legacy of the residential school and the Woodlands Psychiatric Hospital, it is perfectly plausible that similar types of abuse are occurring in the Downtown Eastside under the cover of State supported organizations. What we refer to as the micro-gulag or micro-concentration camp is a real and frightening possibility in the shadowy world of political psychiatry.

I wouldn't use the term, "sex slave", but there are reliable witnesses to the fact that Liz Evans had a sexual relationship with a man she was supposed to be helping in her capacity as a psych nurse, and he ended up having a breakdown. I believe there was a residential arrangement which involved her looking after this guy and living in the same building. My understanding is that it was consensual, although the unequal power balance would have made it unethical.

No doubt about it though, the Downtown Eastside is a breeding ground for abuses of power on the part of povertarians. DES residents are largely powerless against CUPE which defends public sector workers on the DES no matter what they do: verbal abuse, physical abuse, and sexual exploitation.

And you only have to look at how Pivot Legal Society ignores abuses by public sector security guards on the DES, but puts considerable resources into fighting private guards, to know that even these "lawyers for the poor" have been bought off by their union donors.

With all due respect, what might be termed the dissident press admits both it and the general public know next to nothing about the PHS and its inner workings. How can one state with any certainty that Evans never had/has "sex slave(s)"? Have these incidents ever being investigated? Have the inner workings of the PHS ever being examined? Further, how is it that an individual who is described as mentally ill is assumed to be able to comprehend concepts like consensual sex? The whole nature of mental illness is that the insane have a shaky grasp of reality at best. Although we applaud the desire to reveal the true nature of the functionaries of the DTES, the dissident journalists seem unable to grasp the virulent nature of povertarians in general and the PHS in particular. Our intelligence indicates that Mark Townsend was radicalized in his college days to hardline Marxist-Leninism in a similar manner to that of Kim Philby. The notion of "micro-gulags" is undoubtedly accurate. Strip away the puff pieces, the propaganda, this wilderness of mirrors, the poor, the mentally ill, the drug addicts are utilized in whatever way suits the insane schemes of the povertarians in their lawless environment. Never forget that history rhymes - Jim Jones was once the chairman of the San Francisco Housing Authority. It is by no means outlandish that the liberal elite have been deluded once again into blindly following a path that leads to revolutionary suicide.
